I retired at 55. That was 22 years ago. Man, time sure flies when you're having fun!

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

My plan was at 57 one month and day past my birthday. That would be July 1, 2036. BUT my 30 and out is questionable and tied up in court since we were sold. They agreed to keep out benefits the Sam and in place and accepted 4x the cash they paid for our plant in out retirement $ but then decided to change that.

I may change jobs before then if they rule against us. I will never retire just transition into my hobbies full time.

I retired at 56 1/2 2 years ago, I wish I had gone sooner, life is so much better now with out all that stress and I didn't realize how much there was until I was out of it. My family life is so much better now because I don't have to try to juggle it around work, being on call 24/7 365 wears on a person and I had done that for almost 35 years. I am so busy now I don't know how I ever had time to work. I highly recommend it. My Mom and Dad had so many plans but just wouldn't retire for fear that they couldn't make it that when they did retire their health wouldn't let them do many of the things they had planned to do. The sad part about it is that Dad found out that he had been paying them to work because his retirement check was over 200 dollars a month more than his work check. That is why it is important to talk to the HR folks and do retirement calculations.

I retired at 62. That was going on 4 years ago now. I'm finally doing all the things I've always wanted to do before, but was too busy working.

It's sure nice having a 7 day weekend!

I turn 60 in July and retiring is not something I want to do. Spent the last 40 years in the bush most of time guiding hunters, trappers, and anglers. I get a full season every year with little time off. Im happiest when I get up in the morning and realize I have so much to do there is no way I can get it all done. Some day it will come to a screeching halt but for now I will just keep going.

Please don’t retire soon, or lest us know before you do. I’ll need to make a huge $$$ order to stock up.

I'll be 66 in a week... still working a 40 hr job. And helping on the family farms ... and doing some stuff for cash here at home. Thinking about retiring after the first of the year..... we'll see....

I'll start drawing SS when I turn 70. Four more years. Like Warrior I'll be farming right up until it's time for me to be composted myself.

Been trying to retire for over 5 years now. They keep upping the Pay and Benefits. Now I will retire in 1 1/2 years for sure because my wife said so. She wants to enjoy the Grandkids. That will put me at 30 years underground playing with stuff that I respect with men that I respect. I will take my pensions and payouts and enjoy the outdoors.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I was lucky, the company payed for my ins. up until I was on medicare, they now pay my medicare supplement ins. It was a big reason that made me able to retire early.
