8 years ago at age 50, peaple ask me what I do for a living so tell them I'm a trapper. The they ask what I do for a re al job. So I just say I'm retired now. I trap for exercise and it's a good way to spend al my heard earned money.

Retired at 57 ...Almost 2 yrs ago now...No regrets.

Started working underground two days after my 18th birthday, quit at 54.5 It’ll be ten years gone next month.

5 days short of 56. That will be 10 years on June 30th. Done nothing but hunt, trap and fish since then.
Worked way too many hours before retirement to miss work or be bored on days I do nothing.
Wouldn’t know how to handle “work” again.

will start drawing SSI this Aug. scheduled to work up until dinnertime the day of my funeral.

The plan is to go at 55 1/2 or so. I’ve seen way to many wait way to long to retire then they didn’t have the health to enjoy retirement

At 61 last June. Started drawing S.S. last December. I've been offered 2 jobs since then. I retired so I didn't have to work any more! Now it's my time to do what I want to do. Not because I have to.
The best advice I was ever given was "Retire when you can financially retire". Don't wait.

Forced into it at 58, almost 72 now. Best thing that ever happened to me. Over night I went from a giant bottle of Tums per week to none. After a couple years I gave up trying to just get interviews. Every response I got to resumes, dang few, was "too qualified".I think it was more a case "we don't want to pay for your security clearances". It has all worked out for the best. My wife and I have more money in the bank and in our pockets than we ever had. Been married 44 years come the end of July.

Retired from the RR 12 years ago after working 36 years there.55 when I retired.
Continued to work the trapline and added a couple more after taking the RR pension.

Retired at 55 from the state, at 60 from fire service, get some from the VA, and still have not started social security. God is good.

67, no pension just SS and investments. Grow our own food, that helps alot.

I have been self-employed most of my life. At 66 I started collecting S.S.. Still not retired. 72 now and still working 7 days a week. Gov't is taking too much so I need to cut back on something.

Life is good when you have a daily workload of doing what you love.

Went to 3 days a week when I turned 62. It allowed me to keep my benefits and keep building retirement money. I fully retired last April at 65. Do a lot of fishing, mushroom picking, hunting and mainly trapping. My wife and I really love retirement.
