Many people that use Marijuana are creative, in art, music and other things .

I've noticed over the years that people that are creative, especially in the arts, are more prone to addictive behavior.

It's not an absolute. But there does seem to be a correlation.

there is a very good artist around where I live that is a pot smoker. His work is awesome tho he also does fantastic metal sculptures.

That's some serious taking out of context. Poison weeds grow also. Does that mean God means them for our food? Poppy seeds grow, does that mean God likes opium and what it does to people?

All you that will not even consider medical marijuana just take some more of your legal pills and wash it down with stronger drink and think of something else stupid to post. Or just go watch CNN. Lol

Oh please. Drugs inhibit creativity by dulling the senses and brain function. Hope none of the dope defenders on here have kids who read trapper man...

I think we are all born with strengths and weaknesses. And for every positive attribute of strength there tends to be a weakness.

Artistic creativity: Strength or talent.

Prone to addiction: Weakness.

I don't have anything concrete, just anecdotal evidence and personal observation.

I don't think drugs make someone more creative. I think people who have the "knack" of creativity are more prone to becoming addicted.

As I was just now looking up the definition of addictive one example was given stating that studies have shown that THC is far less addictive than opiates for treating pain.

However, the dictionary definition says: "addictive as being physically or mentally dependent on a particular substance and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects".

So, I guess I could concede that marijuana could be mentally addictive, as in somebody just really likes it. But holy cow, nothing like what you see with folks that are truly physically addicted to substances like alcohol, meth, opioids, etc. They just about die when they stop cold turkey. Never have heard of that with pot.

If you think you can smoke a joint for the glory of God have at it... I think that's some serious twisting of scripture too.

For those of you that are saying they would not work with someone taking an opiate I think you are nuts . No way would I want to work with someone around the sort of conditions mentioned who is working with untreated pain . That is a disaster in the making , think about the reality of it for a moment! It seems many on here have drank the liberal cool aid being spewed that any one taking a opiate pain med (at any dose )is an addict and a danger to themselves and those around them . The result is Drs are afraid to address pain issues and those that are already being treated for pain are cut off from treatment . Opiate pain meds are no different than any other med (over the counter included ) They all have specific issues related to taking them in a way that they are not intended. The liberals would have every one believing that taking an opiate pain med is the same as shooting up with heron and group their statistics together for shock value.

Smoking dope ain't much different than being prideful to Him but nobody is talking about pride being legal or illegal. lol

Maybe we should do the same with pot.

Sorry if I come across too strong. It's not directed at anyone in particular. I just have a serious hate for drugs and drunkenness. Never seen where they did anybody any good. I do feel sorry for the people that get addicted.
