lol. What on a trapline is a 2 week old baby going to help with? Make sure my sleep deprivation and sleep interruption are at maximum possible levels???

Well I am currently tied with Beaver Peeler. Broke 250 for the spring, and have 301 according to rules of the competition now. And back to my normally scheduled less than 20 beaver catch today! But I have more traps to check, and a wife that said I am off the hook for kids for a day this weekend…so maybe I will go catch some more!

Shipping some of my beavers to FHA at Alberta trappers association on last receiving date. Beavers last few weeks skinned and frozen for a busy preseason handling extravaganza

Came across this new beer - some good Canadian fur trading history on back, plus honouring present day trappers , and it tasted great too!

Gotcha. There’s a guy in Quebec that just sent in fur a few days ago before the auction. Hard to figure out what he’s said, but something about him living close to the North Bay so he could drop off later or something? Lol
Yep, Once the Jets were out, Oilers all the way.

Finally squeaked over 400 mark. New territory for myself - a lot of scrapes, mud, trips and unplanned swimming but got there! ha Much harder than same number of Coyotes. One final check and pull tomorrow.

I pulled everything Thursday and haven’t had a chance to catch up yet.

Ended with 275 this spring, and 1/2 of 98 I caught last fall for a total of 324 for the contest. Not what I expected going into the season…but what I could do with what life threw at me!

Last beaver of the to be skun was a black one that will end up at the tannery with a few others I caught this spring.

50 from last month plus another 31 brings me to 81. Didn’t think I’d break 70 but it was a gong show about 2 weeks ago. Probably another dozen or so coming before the season ends. Gotta get out and hit a friends pond but it’s over an hour drive away.
Finish off with a splash….lol

Went into last check (yesterday) at 403, and picked up 17 for an even 420 on season. Learned a lot this year… bought another freezer today for extra beaver pelts . Thanks guys

Blessed with a good population and access /permissions that exceeded the time I had to give . Worked my regular job, but most weeks during spring took 2 days off; plus weekends
