a gallon of total boat poly resin and hardener is 45 on amazon
a gallon of tite-bond III is 42 from ace
tite-bond II is labeled for indoor use. at 30 a gallon
you can do poly resin right on the wood and since it is a building resin no sanding between coats either will need a good paint at the end.
poly resin hardens reasonably fast as you activated it , tite-bond is air dry
probably could do 3 truck bed covers on a gallon of poly resin
given the savings on sand paper I don't really see any savings to the poor mans approach and it would seem to take longer.
poly resin is quickly applied with a roller

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Got the first coat on and the fabric. 1st top coat goes on later today. Went well. Just used a piece of cotton material the wife had. That table is 40"X36". I used 1 + a little out of the 2nd 8oz bottle of glue. Need to get another bottle for the top coats. Wife thinks I should paint it purple but I don't think so.lol btw Titebond II is indoor outdoor just
