This is a smaller package I ordered on Feb 7th from a business in Pennsylvania. Within a few days it was in Jacksonville, FL (only about 1.5 hrs from me). Then it was sent to Puerto Rico. Now, it's back in Jacksonville, FL. I still have not received it.

Yep, waiting on a check from Texas that was sent priority mail on the 14th……apparently the priority is to not get it here very quickly

I mailed a book to a friend who lives 15 miles from our local post office on Monday. The expected delivery date is Friday.

I mailed a book to a friend who lives 15 miles from our local post office on Monday. The expected delivery date is Friday. It was a paperback book. It cost me $6.25 total to mail it. Part of the price was I used one of their mailers. That was $2.25, so the cost to mail it was $4.00.

This ground advantage seems to be a real savings to me. I just mailed a four pound package from AR to AK and it was eight bucks. The postage was bought through ebay but I think you can get the same rates through pirate ship.

The USPS is a JOKE!! Two years ago we mailed out Grankids and kids X-mas to them. We sent it priority and should have been there in 5 days. that was the end of November. It did not get there until MAY!!! When we went to the Post Office and wanted to collect our money because it was insured they laughed at us and when it finally arrived months later even refused to give us the money back for the expedited delivery claiming that " IT GOT THERE DIDN'T IT!!! That was from the Post master at Charleston WV!!!
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

it seems that the packages get scanned into a trailer , then if they don't get scanned out of a trailer they stay in the database with a location of that trailer as the trailer goes round the country your package goes round the country if it is on it or off it until it gets individually scanned someplace.
we have gotten a few packages that made the loop several times when the come they look like they probably got behind the boards on the side of the trailer and rode there a few rounds
they probably have a if it has been in transit for 2 weeks some one go check that trailer for it , query on the database , it would be nice if they set that to if it is 2 days past or has followed the same trailer for more than 3 transfer hubs without being scanned
but since QA in 202X is complaint driven and people working are the shortage in 2 weeks most of these probably get found and scanned and no one needs to go look special , just really frustrating for the consumer , but since you can't actually reach anyone on their phone line that could help you any way , the don't really care
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

They do that to me all the time; send packages all over the country, adding hundreds sometimes 1000s of extra miles before they ultimately deliver it to me.
Eh...wot?

Strange things do happen, but I have to say that out of thousands of usps packages I can count on one hand the problems. I do think more issues happen with small items that can get stuck in a conveyor belt.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjŕ vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I had 925 jumbo, coturnix quail eggs shipped to me last week from the same place in Pennsylvania, in 2 boxes, by Priority Mail. The boxes traveled together until they reached the Columbus, Ohio distribution center. One box, of 450 eggs was delivered last Thursday. The other box of 475 eggs was delivered this Tuesday.
I'm getting 5000 eggs shipped in next week. I hope they all arrive quickly, without damage and on time.

The nearest town to me is seven miles away. Less than a thousand people but they have their own Post Office. They were my PO for decades. Some great, long-time employees working there. One woman in particular is a great community asset. she knows everyone and all the goings on.
I caught a non-target canine two seasons ago and took it home with me. I told the landowner who told the PO lady who found the owners almost immediately. It had come from over five miles away. She called me to let me know, I took it to her after hours at the PO and she took it back to the owners.
The carrier was great too. She'd drop stuff on the porch that was too big for the box. She'd take letters I forgot to stamp and leave me a note saying I owed her fifty cents or whatever it was at the time.
For reasons known only to the USPS, a few years ago they started having my mail delivered out of a PO in a larger town another five miles away. The PO employees are incompetent and rude and the various carriers they employ suck, missing mail, other people's mail, etc.
I still do all my business out of my old PO and only go to the new one when I have to pick up a registered letter or something like that.
Wish they never would have switched me.
Eh...wot?

USPS tracking may as well not exist X2. At my post office they even circle the tracking part with a pen right in front of you. Maybe it's an inside joke with them

A few years ago when I lived in Florida, my dad was living and living in Newark, Ohio which is 30 miles east of Columbus. He called and said he was sending me a check for some equipment I was wanting for my business and he was late getting it mailed. So, he sent it over-night. He also said it was guaranteed to be delivered over-night.
I ask him what the guarantee penalty was if It didn't get here in that time frame, He said, since I had to sign for the letter for me to send him the receipt and he would get his money back.
Well, it did not get here the next day, but the following day. So, as I was instructed by him, I sent the receipt to him and he got his money back.
A couple of days later, I ran into the Assistant Postmaster in Palatka, Florida, ten miles away from me, and ask her about the deal. All of my regular mail, I thought came from there. She told me that is didn't, it came from Daytona, 75 miles away. The road east of me, closest to Palatka, was the dividing line... so everything that came into the Palatka office for me was forwarded to Daytona.
She advised to have my dad send everything of any impertinence to send over-night and he would always get his money back. She said they had been arguing this point to the P.O.H.Q. for years, but they wouldn't do anything about it.
The funny thing is after my street to the south was a river which would have been a much better cut off area.
So, he did that is the future.

Yesterday I found my new golf clubs and bag in the front seat of my pickup. I figured the UPS guy just thought it was easier to drop them off here at work, instead of taking them to my house. When I got home, there on the porch was another UPS package for my wife. He had to go there anyhow, yet still left my stuff where only I could find it. It's rare to find good people like that anymore!!

I had a great UPS man but he must have retired he used to drop a lot of our stuff off at he co-op when my wife worked there it was nice both the mailman and the ups man liked stopping by the co-op as there was a bathroom and place to fill up water no store just a co-op office with pull through parking right outside the door.

I do everything through UPS or FedEx if at all possible. It might cost a little more sometimes, but it's worth not having to deal with the hassle of USPS.

I had a package not long ago sent to me from 4 miles N.W. of me. It traveled all the way to N.J., then back up here, then BACK down to Jersey and finally back to here. Over 400 miles before finally getting to me. Their excuse? Wrong zip code or unreadable label. Guess what? The label was correct and PERFECTLY READABLE. Steve Wonder could have read it.
Talk about ineffecient!
Dejoy really needs to go. We used to have ONE mailman back in the good old days. Now we get 2-3 different mail people a week. The USPS has went to all to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman).
Move on out of there! My mail carrier sends a text when a package is too big and asks where to leave it.

A lot of whiners on this site about everything known to man. Use another company for services if USPS does not meet your personal standards. Waaa, waaaa, waaa!!! I ordered an item. I didn't choose how they decided to ship it to me. Quit whining about us whiners!

I was outside this morning and saw them pull up to the mail box. So I walked out to get the mail. Two letters in the box one to me and one to my neighbor to the north. I guess the new guy delivering is not any better than the old one. Two different names and address in one box.

I did not check the mail Monday or Tuesday and when I did today. 7 pieces of mail, four to me three to the neighbor. His address is 1100 and mine 1201. He has a PO box in town and I do not. Why they guy does not take it back and put it in his PO Box is a mystery. I am taking these three back to the PO. I have just been dropping his mail off to him. But no more of that.

Well good for you......I'm glad you got that off your chest on the quarterly bash the USPS thread! Why not just use the other shipping companies.....or do you feel better? Along with everyone else on the quarterly bash the USPS thread. Just stop using them.....see how easy that is? There....until the next quarter....carry on! Lololololol now...wasn't there just a bash UPS thread on here a little while back? And FedEx ? Lololol
Well..well...it looks like we have a USPS employee or family member here. If so...see if you can help them with their problems. i didnt get to choose the shipper. I ordered...company shipped USPS. Buy from a different company..or just continue with your whining and crying....or get your LowT treated......the amount of LowT "men" on here complaining about everything is laughable. Hey...maybe even try trapping occasionally....but then again...you'll just complaint about prices....carry on

Why would they do that....it's so much easier to commiserate with fellow whiners on Tman. If it's not USPS it's FedEx or UPS. How about everyone say what they do for a living and we can give anecdotal evidence of how bad you are at your job. After reading some of these posts ..there should be an uptick in pacifier deliveries.....

Do I pick who carries my mail? I wish I could. If I did it would not be the USPS. Shut them down and cut my taxes the amount that goes to them. I packed and shipped cargo for 20 + years. Everything from nuts and bolts to aircraft wings and fuselage, ammo and bombs by the semi load, top secret cargo that USPS was not cleared to carry. Shipped land, water and air. USPS was way low on the list for use due to their record.

I ordered a battery from knoksville Tennessee, they shipped it the next day. I'm in eastern oregon, it went from Tennessee to guam to Texas to Hawaii to Seattle to portland to boise and finally to me. It took 18 days Maybe you spelled Knoksville wrong.

Ltrman, I'm retired and pretty good at it.
Trapping? I've been on Tman a long time and I don't recall ever seeing a trapping post by you.
I'd wager that you can't wait until you retire from the useless USPS.

After reading some of these posts ..there should be an uptick in pacifier deliveries..... Seems to me that you are the one whining. There are a lot of legitimate concerns voiced on here and the toxic attitudes of postal service workers like the one you expressed here is a big part of the problem. It wasn't that long ago that it was hard to get a USPS job and they could be selective about the people they hired, but like most corporations they are now forced to hire from a pool of lackeys and low IQ people. The woman who carries our mail here is a perfect example of a lazy dipstick who slacks whenever she can and even skips a part of her route from time to time just so she can get home early I suppose. I just happen to be on that section that's easy to skip. There used to be a saying about the reliability of the USPS, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" well that's become a pathetic joke.

In my area, all of the rural mail delivery is done by contractors. They are not USPS employees. I was about to say that I thought rural delivery was done by contract.

I would guess the USPS. No different than if you contract some one to build you something. When someone puts a stamp on a letter or pays postage on a box they are paying for it to be shipped to the address on it in a reasonable amount of time, no matter who delivers it. If a contractor can not deliver mail to the correct address that he runs every day should he work there?

I really haven't had much trouble with stuff getting lost. Sometimes there are delays (especially when it hits Memphis) but I've not had anything lost. I print out all of my labels so maybe that helps. With some peoples chicken scratchin I'm surprised most of their mail doesn't get lost.

Yesterday I got the three pieces of mail that were my neighbors back on 3/6 again. I took them to the post office and they were gone for lunch. The even had a yellow sticky on one with my last name wrote on it. I am wondering if it will come back again. He has a PO box in a town of 350 people. You would think they would know he has a box in town.
