I am working a site in the city. There's a creek that flows along side of a paved walking/biking path, and the beavers built a dam which is encroaching on the path. So, I figured there's a pair in there. I set two pass-through sets using snares. Fortunately, where the dam is located it's out of sight of the popular walking path. Here's the first set. It's what a call a pass-through set. There's a dab of lure on the limb that's leaning against the small tree. Here's a close-up. This morning I had this adult female, and I was happy to get her first. I'm hoping the next snare had the adult male, and I might be done. Here's the second set, another pass-through. And to my dismay, I have a yearling. That means there's probably three or four more beavers here.

Paul. What percentage of beaver still alive when snare caught?
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Always nice until you discover there's 3 or 4 adult females living in the place, lol. 99 percent of mine are alive in snares unless im not wanting them alive when i get there. And how I found out beaver can jump and will come at you. Luckily I had a clear path for a fast reverse.

Trapping a place now that borders a highway. I've found cement blocks at all the culverts along the way. Beaver seem to be castor shy. What lure do you use in this set under such conditions? Oil sac work?
