Years ago, I found a purse in the ditch while trapping. No ID but had $10 in it. A couple weeks later, there was a lost/found ad in the paper for it. It was a kid’s purse that got thrown from the school bus. It had great sentimental value to her and the family was very happy to get it back. They tried to give me the $10 but I wouldn’t take it. Kudos to you , and more importantly to your parents who raised you right.

That's an awful lot of wallets to find. Is there a particular place you actually look for them?

That's an awful lot of wallets to find. Is there a particular place you actually look for them? Not really. I just scan the ground more closely than most people. Just looking for things people drop. I've found lots of hand tools over the years. I have a friend who calls me the 'wallet magnet' I even found 2 in one year. Most have little to no cash. My best find was one with $454 in it. Yes , I returned it with all the money.

I called the local Sheriff office and told them. They wanted me to bring them to there office. I said no, I fell for that once before. Yup. Buddy of mine, a retired Tn state trooper, had his truck stolen with 2 handguns in it. Truck was processed thru a chop shop and never seen again. A couple of years later the chop shop got busted and his handguns were recovered. It has been a couple of years or more since the recovery and he can't get them back from law enforcement. Holding them for "Potential federal charges." Being retired LE he knows the score and has given up on ever seeing them again.
