I'm down to 1000 of my favorite Fed Lightning that my Marlin likes best but I have lots of the 325 packs which do fine in anything. I might have 2500 or so of the CCI Stringers for the Rugers. For buddies and beggars I keep some of the Remington buckets that I hate. Probably more than 1000.
I suppose there are way more than 6k but less than 7k total. I don't buy when things get stupid- I just smile.

I blame the shortage directly on you hoarders.
Out of necessity I found other means. A good learning experience. One that I am no longer willing to share. I bought long before the shortage. Like 2008

I was raised to keep stuff on hand. My grandparents went through the depression and taught my folks to. When the toilet paper panic hit we already had a bunch. When the grocery store is 45 minutes away you just naturally stay stocked up. Its a lot closer now but old habits are hard to break. Just seems prudent to have stuff on hand. No different than saving money for the unexpected. When ammo got scarce I already had some. Did not pay those scalper prices. Didn't have to.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Always think ahead , and save for a rainy day. It's sad that I have supplies stored and food that most wouldn't think of today. I can my own , and to be honest trust my canning farther than store bought cans.

The explosion at the Hornady plant in GI last week was an accident where they were mixing the components to make primers. Killed one and injured two.

I remember. Then it loosened up until Covid. If people weren't stocking up when prices were low and ammo was readily available, that's on them.
