The Vista thread inspired me to go through my ammo and reloading cabinets this afternoon.

Pre-covid, when I was ordering something from Midway or wherever I would add a brick or two of 22lr. It was so cheap back then. I knew I had accumulated a bunch, but digging it out and making a list now.

Anyone else have an obscene amount of 22lr stashed away? I'll post a total later if anyone else wants to share.

a 22 will sure enough keep you fed , protect chickens and other livestock. protect you too. I know lots of people who say it wont work for self defense but none of them are willing to let me shoot them to prove it.

Let me put it to you this way. I likely have more ammo on the floorboards and defroster of my truck than the average person owns.

I have all but quit shooting 22lr since they became rare during the O bummer reign. Went to 223 for fun shooting and was able to load them for a similar price. I have a few thousand on hand to feed the 10/22 and Colt woodsman to get a squirrel or five now and then. But I have more 223 rounds than 22 lr for sure

Some people might think I'm nuts, but I often carry my suppressed 22lr. Smaller than many 9mms.

Lacks stopping power but won't blow out my ears. And yes, it will kill.

Well BC did the same as you would go to the farm store and throw in a couple bricks, I think I bought every box of 22 shorts Ace Hsrdware had for 7.99 a 100 you can accumulate quickly and not even realize what you are doing lol

I got a box of 100 shorts. Never really use them. For dispatch I use a 22 revolver with LR. Velocity is probably about the same as a short in a rifle.

Less than a 1000 rounds

When I quit buying I had around 7000 rounds of .22 . I'll never use them all. Plus 9mm, .45, 22.250 and .243. And .17 and .270

No shorts. I don't have a lot of lrs. Less than 10k, not sure. Digging through my closet last week found 1600 I didn't know I had lol.

Why would the feds know how much I have? Firm believer in cash

A sucking chest wound is a sucking chest wound. Repairing a wildly erratic wound channel isn't for beginners of the medical profession either.

5-6k lr and 1200 mini mags.
9 shot .22 revolver is a good self defense handgun.
