I was a big fan of Sleepy Creek #3's for cats and yotes. Used a good number of #2 & #3 Bridger's also. I always reached for the Sleepy Creeks first, however.

#3 or 4 longs, BandL preferred. #1.75,2,3, and 4 Montgomery dogless vintage or Victor (a few other vintage brands thrown in as well). In winter for snow sets I used/still use old 4 jumps.

I switched to big k9 extremes a few years ago and never looked back. I still use some old traps in areas that I think are more prone to theft.

#3 double longs. I have some MB 650s and they have some disadvantages, but if they close on a wolf's foot and your swivels are welded, he'll be there when you get there. K9 Extremes are a better coyote trap in my opinion, and will also hold up to a wolf, but I don't have any. One that hasn't been mentioned, and I have a few that were my dad's uncle's, are Herter's #3 coils. Not that great a trap in my opinion, but the ones I have caught a lot of coyotes before I got them.

Love my #2 and #3 double longsprings, have some duke and wolf creek #2s I 4 coiled and love. 6' of #2 American chain on all of em, I trap in mostly timber so it makes it easier to anchor
Never used a mb550, probably never will, see no need to spend $20+ on a trap unless it's a big piece of beaver iron
I don't specifically target coyotes, I target whatever works my sets. I catch plenty of critters to eat and plenty of worthless fur to keep me busy tanning

x2
For dedicated coyote sets I've learned to love the little Montana Coyote Specials (so very similar the Montgomeris Warior mentions) and the KB 5.5.
