The Momtana #3s all modded up do me a great job. The Jakes too but they are not the greatest thing to use with a drag the way I like to.

Bridger 2s and 3s are my favorite. Not a fan of my MB 550. I use them but I tend to reach for them last.

I caught my first ones in Duke 1 3/4, 2s and 3s before I discovered the 550s. I have a lot of 550s now, I never liked the 650, 750s personally, and to each their own.

Bridger #3 fully modified, victor #3 and #4 double longsprings fully modified. I still use those for all of my cat trapping.

Not a 550 fan. # 3 Bridger fully modified. Know a guy who catch lots of coyotes who's tried most of the traps out there and his favorite is #4 Montgomery dogless. I do like my Sudden valley #4s especially for cats. Dogless wire springs and big pans

I’m trying a poll on traps before the invention of MB’s etc. nothing against them. Just seeing what everybody's trap was before they came out.

I was a big Jake fan. I caught a ton of coyotes in them before Mark June introduced me to the 550. I thought he was spewing Communism at first but I run 550’s and Duke 650’s on 90% of my line now. I still consider the Jake a great trap.

Number 2 victors, they weren’t the best but they worked for everything but beaver, we didn’t have otter here then or they were really low number.

For fur trapping, Jakes were and still are tops. Second choice back then and now, would still be #3 Montanas.

I have owned LOTs of traps in 35 years. Easier to list what I have NOT owned than what all I have. Has a dz Jakes in the mid 90s. Traded a Rem 700 rifle for them. I liked them. But at the time. Wherw hard to bury in North Alabama red clay where i was trapping

KB 5.5 really like them, don't see any need to change. I still buy a few of the new traps, always looking for that lightning in a bottle!
