One reason for the low offering is that the fur pickup, in this area anyway, was early in January and there was only a hint of improving interest in beaver at that time. It was all gloom and doom for everything else. Those more recent sales showing some advancement in beaver were too late to stimulate much shipment to this sale. When I dropped my marten off at the depot in January the ladies working there said that a lot less fur this year then last year.

If they continue to sell off goods for the packing fees we are all dead men walking.
Muskrats don't take a lot of room in storage.
We should be at the point in supply and demand where everything should have value.
Has to be the smallest harvest in the last fifty years, if the world demand can't buy it all for decent money, the writing is on the wall. Spot on. Harvest numbers are pitiful. If these numbers can’t be absorbed………… If it wasn’t for nuisance beaver men skinning, the beaver and otter harvest would be even smaller than it is.

Just wait if the prices pick up you will see a flood of stale fur come out of freezers and cold rooms all over the place and depress the market for a couple more years..

if they want more fur they need to fix there computor system....lack of info or ability to see where your past or present fur is. that speaks volume about a company and many trappers are not going to ship there because of the lack off transparency issuse. i know they have updated recently but its way to late and there is very LITTLE INFO PROVIDED IN NEW SYSTEM....very poor effort on FHA part! it would be nice to watch the auction also.

Its all about the price of fur.
When prices spike trappers couldnt care less about any computers,just their big fat fur cheque or direct deposit.
The biggest whiners about the computer will be the first ones lining up at the fur pick up truck.

a house of cards is not built on transparency...see any connection? No none. You cant be more transparent than FHA Their AGM is open to all delegates.Many American delegates attend every year.And trappers vote in the board of directors.

Or is it hand written? If not it is in a computer. They just don't care if the shipper sees it. They have always lagged when it came to the volume of fur they get in. I wonder why.
