Lotting should be up just before the sale. They have to finish all the grading/sorting first.

I wonder if we are going to be able to see what our stuff graded? Eventually, probably the day before inspection starts. Right now they are still grading and lotting. Gotta have the catalog ready when the buyers get there.

It doesn't appear that the beaver numbers spiked a bunch on the news that there was increasing demand.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Looks like they need more skunks and otter to sell. Quantities of skunks and Otter are very close to the same numbers they had in March of 2022.

The news of increasing demand is nice but the value has not followed. Watching GFW and 20-30 tops on 3XL Beaver does not get me all excited.
Beaver trappers in the states are averaging low to very high twenties at the state auctions for the pelts, throw in a buck or two for the tails and a couple bucks for the skull and $11 or so average for castor and they are getting over $40 USD. for a beaver average. Not $20-$30 for a 3Xl super blanket. I do realize that's not enough for some trappers. Look at Michigan's and Colorado's average. Colorado had mostly summer damage skins on their auction. Groenewold is paying what you quoted for very big beaver frozen in the grease, not the same.

The offering is a joke, considering that a lot of it would be re-consigned goods from last June.
If they can't sell what they have we are all in serious trouble.
There should be triple or more goods but just goes to show the state of the whole industry.
When you consider they are drawing fur from across North America that's not much of an offering.
We should all be praying they pull something positive off.

Wearing Your rose colored glasses today Wolfer. No one is averaging 40 on an all in fur market collection of any size.

Be interesting to see what the rats, coon and coyote sell for. They will likely take any offer just to move them out. Beaver marten and otter should be pretty good.

One reason for the low offering is that the fur pickup, in this area anyway, was early in January and there was only a hint of improving interest in beaver at that time. It was all gloom and doom for everything else. Those more recent sales showing some advancement in beaver were too late to stimulate much shipment to this sale.

Wearing Your rose colored glasses today Wolfer. No one is averaging 40 on an all in fur market collection of any size. Do a little homework BEFORE you tell someone they're wrong. Look at the Idaho sale averages that covers beaver pelts, skulls, tails and castor. I don't expect to hear back from you on this once you check. Check the Colorado sale as well. MAYBE you're not researching the market and not selling in the right places? Rusty did a great job of breaking everything down in average and price.
