been on it every winter for a few years, got lots of the tree done to around the 1600s
This winter I payed a bit more for more in dept geneology records to confirm what I previously had found
wow, sometimes it pays to spend a extra 50 bucks for 6 months !
Just rescently I confirmed my great great grandfather on half of my mothers side ( ms ) was a Irish immigrant who
moved to the states as a young boy inlisted in the union army and died at Andersonville, his son moved to Ms and became a klansman
The other half of my moms family , my great great grandfather was tarred, feathered, and hung for being a black sympathizer in 1897,
the govenor of Ms at that time issued a $150.00 reward ( over 5 grand today)for information and asked the cops to do their bestto find the killers,
of course nothing at all was solved.
I have deep roots in east Texas, one of my grandmothers was killed in a train incident, havent looked into that one yet just glanced thru records.
My biggest find so far is I aint suppose to be a " French" , my grandma in Pa had a affair while her husband was out selling for Heinz , I had
heard the rumour but never verified it, now I know why my father and his non biological father hated each other
Ancestry isnt for everyone, I enjoy it alot , I think its interesting to find out the truth
and on another note, my dads side thru his mom lead me to a captain of a fire boat in the revolutionary war, now I know why my grandma was part of the sons of the revolutionary war

Well, finding out some of your kin folk were tarred and feathered you surely got your money's worth. Just think if you could go back a few more generations the gems you might uncover!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

The most interesting part of that is that the son of a Union soldier that died in Andersonville would then move south and become a rebel.

I know that I am related to Daniel Boone, but the actual connection is not clear to me. I suppose an ancestry site would clear that up. Would it be worth paying for it to find out? Not sure. My verified link to Boone comes through my 5th Great Grandmother, who was a sibling of Sarah Morgan- the mother of Daniel Boone.

If you don’t mind my asking what level did you have to pay for for that extra info? I pay for it but want more info (fold) but and waffling on the $

I'm skeptical. How do you know they aren't just making it all up? Seems they'd have to find a few interesting "facts" out to get people to pay a little more for a little more info... Maybe it's totally legit too? Just curious... A lot of people build a fake family on Ancestry- you need to triangulate a lot of data but you start to link other family trees with ThruLines- your DNA matches those lineages. I benefited by years, generations and linkages that were preserved in a family bible.
