I use number 3 sleepy Creek double long springs. Should I go with the expand a pans under the hay or the regular pans?

If you just want cats throw the trap on top of the hay and leave it exposed

I love expanded pans but only on exposed sets. FYI the SC #3 DLS is my favorite cat trap

I set choke points in travel ways and I am partial to walk thru / exposed traps sets. My favorite is the rub post

A good benefit of the haysets is I like how they attract mice. I've heard of people scattering a little bird seed in amongst the hay to encourage mice
