Just saw some hummingbirds while we were hiking in the Badlands of western SD last weekend. They sure seemed to like the canada thistle flowers.

Covered up with them here

I need a fix i have four Perky-Pet hummer feeders. They will leak out sugar water in one day from the tube that flower fits over and then the wasp deter bulb.

Hummers are still here. Every year they leave within a couple days of labor day

Feeding for more than 40 years took a bit to get started. 5 feeders and about 100 hummers at our current peak. Juice goes fast. Most leave on the first cool night close to the end of August. A few straggle thru for a week or so. I miss them when they leave.

A friend of mine who lives 8 miles N of me saw 2 this morning. But I think they were migrating as they were the first in a while. And I haven't seen any in at least 2 weeks.

We love hummingbirds, but have so much wind, we can't seem to keep a feeder from making a huge mess. I have noticed a lot of martens lately, guessing that they're bugging out (pun intended)!

Yup its mostly woodland here with grass fields dotted around for hay and cattle. 90% of my patch is woodland. Just a couple of food plots, my gardens and the easement for the little power line is not covered in trees. Mostly oaks and hickory Nice! they seem to thrive in that type of habitat. my uncle in PA leaves in the woods and has aton.
