I plant after memoral day here, and there is still a chance of frost

4 inches of lake effect snow off Lake Erie when I got up this morning. Calling for a low of 23°F tonight. Won't plant till after Decoration Day.
Have a friend down the road that doesn't plant until July 1st and his garden grows and matures the same time as mine does. Tells me he saves a month of weeding lol. Of course his garden is in a flood plain with nutrients galore.

Gotta get the plants up and weeds out before the deer flies get here.

Some folks here risk getting corn in early because they can get 6 bucks/ dozen early, but when everyone is selling later on it goes for half that.

No, early is all about beating the insects.
