Here is the forecast through the 17th. I’m thinking I should be good to go to get some corn, squash and cukes in the ground.

What say you pros?

You might be good in maryland though theres still some chance for a late frost, I would look for some further out forecasts . 50% last chance frost date for Ocean City is April 19th

In north central Pa, I don’t plant anything frost sensitive from seed (beans, corn ) until after May15th. In my lifetime, I’ve seen a half dozen killing frosts at the end of May.

Plants that will burn off, I wait till Memorial Day weekend.

I couldn't even imagine............. !!!

In my lifetime I've seen a HARD, killing frost as late as June 21st, here.

We also had 3 nights in a row under 20 degrees one year the 3rd week of may. That even killed the Christmas tree crop back for two years.

I don't show highs above freezing until the 20th and then it shows 35 is all. Lows in the single digits too.

Two 30 degree mornings in the 10 day forecast here

They probably will not freeze but plants like corn won't germinate at all until the soil temps in the seed zone are about 52-54 degrees and if it takes 10 days to 14 days to emerge should be about the 20th before they emerge. Corn growing point stays below the ground so you can burn off a few leaves and still come back. Cucumbers and squash actually like or need more heat than corn, most varieties at least and their growing point is above the ground like beans etc.

This year you may need to plow the snow off the garden before you till it.

I have trimmed my winter beard 2 days ago. That means there will not be any more frost and I am putting the corn and beans in the ground as soon as the rain lets me. I am ready to rock. Literally .... picking rocks between the showers

Iam not clever enough for that sort of thing and do stuff by rows. In the patch on photo is gone to be 8 rows of corn and 2 of bush beans. In another 3 rows of spuds and the rest with beans. The admiral does the up market stuff like squashes maters, okra and such.
Zucchini we hunt in the hills.
