i have been toying with the idea of turning some 1 gallon sunny-d bottles into muskrat floats when i came up with is idea for a raccoon set. top view in ground

Hmmm... Interesting. Do you think it will be dog resistant? It doesn't seem to be completely dog proof but could still be effective nonetheless. It is a good idea. my beagle walked all over it, and she didn;t collapse it, i don't know what would happen if a bigger dog went after it, of if they tried to dig it up. i know when you bury it you mess up a lot of didt making alot of eye appeal. there cheeap and lightweight also.

It would only be good for one catch. The coon would destroy It In a heart beat. But It sure will keep the dogs out.

I don't see why a 2 liter pop bottle won't work for coon, used them for mink on creeks; pre sets! works fine years ago we used to use the old milk cartons/half gal ones worked great for mink & coon/cheap and easy to carry

Looks like any dog could get its paw in that hole and if he does it would be easy to trip the trap. Dog proof trap's triggers should be pull type triggers not push down IMO.
