i watched my boss go to opening a envelope with his pocket knife and it slipped and he cut his finger. without even thinking or giving it time to even bleed. he pinched the skin back together and super glued it. then the next day half way through the day he had the die grinder out taking the super glue off because he could feel right with it and you couldnt even tell the cut happened

One evening last summer, I was driving by a picnic table at the camp where I work. It was surrounded with people, with cell phone flashlights glowing. Knowing something was up, I stopped to see what was happening. There was a older gentleman who had a small dog with a superficial cut. And they were trying to superglue it closed. The first attempt started okay, but at the last minute, someone, wearing latex gloves, got a finger too close and glued the glove to the cut. The glove was taken off, and carefully removed from the wound, which opened back up. And so they tried again. And the guy specifically told the others, not to put their fingers so close, like this. And he glued his finger to his dog. He was laughing, but also stuck. For the first 10 seconds, nobody was sure if he was joking or stuck. He had a utility knife in his car, just grab that and cut him loose! So we ended up doing surgery to cut his finger away from his dog.

Acetone (fingernail polish remover) will loosen super glue. Use sparingly, no need to be grinding or trying to cut parts free.

About 8 years ago I cut my hand while processing a deer. Went to the clinic for stitches. After all of the normal prep work the Doctor told the nurse to put the suture kit back and get the glue. I listened and watched as he glued the wound and applied several steri-strips. When he was finished, I told him,That he probably should not have done that. He asked me what i meant and I told him that, I might never come in for stitches again. I told him that I have super glue at home, he said that what they use is a medical grade glue. I asked for the remainder of the bottle that he used, and he refused to give it to me. I have glued myself several times since then. Whenever possible I apply some steri-strips as well to help hold the wound closed. A bottle of New Skin helps to hold the ends of the steri-strips. The most important thing is to properly clean the wound and stop the bleeding before gluing. I do understand that a major cut would require more attention than this, so I would still go in for something more than a minor cut that would only require a few stitches!

My oldest boy is a chef. Super glue is pretty much the industry standard for minor cuts... Clean up the cut and glue it shut. Saves customers from finding a wayward band-aid in their meal.

Had my second open chest heart operation last March . They glued the wound shut . About 10 inch long cut . Left a very faint scar . They did staple the cut also . Modern medicine, ain't it wonderful . I know I can't live without it .

I thought everyone with male children used super glue. I got tired of going to the emergency room, so super glue to the rescue. Worked especially well with head cuts where they didn’t have to get there head shaved for stitches. They even got to the point of squeezing their cuts together themselves while I glued. my go too was butter fly closures super glue seems better especially for knuckle cuts i have used new skin for cracks and small cuts , never thought to use it as glue it seems to dry rather slow comparatively.

It worked very well.
I have no plans to cut myself but I picked up a 4 pack of little single use gel super glue for my first aid kits
the gel shouldn't run like the liquid did.
