i had heard of this for quite a while and never really had the need for it

till tonight , happened to have some super glue

slipped washing my chefs knife , go figure what glides through pork roast goes through thumb mighty easy also.

good clean cut not quite bad enough to need stitches but enough that it was going to be very unpleasant opening up all the time

I really expected it to burn and it didn't

any of you use the super glue?

do you re-apply at some point

I used the , wash it ,dry it , squeeze it tight shut and glue over the top method as I had heard that was best

if this works it might be the best 99 cents I ever spent at Harbor freight.

It’s a quick fix till you get to actual medical help. Unless you don’t need stitches.

Use it all the time. Even more so in the winter when my fingers crack open from being dry. I would just caution about relying on it if you think that havent gotten the cut thoroughly cleaned out, just from infection standpoint. I reapply it as necessary. Paper towels and black electrical tape are my next go to! LOL

I've heard medical professionals use it too.
Makes sense , keeps the flesh tight together better than most methods - less scarring.

Sorry to hear about your fingers , hope ya heal up quick.

it is more a really inconvenient location than all that deep , got it across the thumb knuckle.

for a guy on blood thinners I though it stopped bleeding very quick with good pressure holding it shut after cleaning it

Use it for cuts works pretty good and seems to heal up faster, just be careful not to glue yourself....

I’ve used it for years. Works great and like was said it heals up those painful cracks.

Used it several times. You have to be careful not to glue your fingers to the cut when squeezing it shut! I used it once on my Jack Russell when he jumped on a much bigger dog and has his scalp opened up. It smoked like crazy for a few seconds!

I heard that's what it was invented for, but that may be an old wives tale. JMO. Heal up quick.

A friend of mine got his hand and wrist bit up by a small dog and the folks at an urgent care used glue to fix him up. It didn't air out properly, got infected and his hand swelled up like a muskmelon. The doctor that later attended him said that they never should have glued a dog bite.

Yup all the time. Hospitals and surgeons use it often. Actually they use liquid stitches. I worked stocking the hospital, we carried and supplied it all the time. It also comes in certain surgical kits which are pre-made from the medical company.

One time I was helping my buddy with his undercover car to prep it for a sting operation. I happened to cut open my knee all the way to the knee cap in the process. My wife got me Liquid Bandage. That one burned but certainly worked

Medic for 30 years, superglue works great for almost all CUTS. Make sure you cleanse the cut throughly; pinch, push, prod the edges of the skin to close the wound and glue along the cut line. Glue the cut line skin and not down into the wound. Keep wound close for at least a minute and you are good to go (so long as you don’t glue the closure items to the cut). If it becomes infected, seek medical help.

Works on skin cracks too. Do not try to align the edges for this, just apply a layer of glue over to crack. These hurt because the nerve ends are exposed, applying a thin layer of glue seals off the nerve and protects it until it heals. Again, be sure to cleanse prior to applying glue so that no bacteria is trapped below the glue.

Never glue puncture wounds. Almost all folks need medical attention to insure puncture wounds are free from bacteria.

I had a puncture wound last year and the doctor said never to use Hydrogen-Peroxide on a deep cuts because it will breakdown tissue... my Dad would've been disappointed and probably challenged her because A&D Ointment and Peroxide is all you need to fix anything, I have never used these but we added them to the First Aid Kit- supposedly as good as stiches. I've used super glue on decent buy smallish cuts. Helps to have some butterfly bandages or tape though. I have one that was on my hand that looked more like a valley and all the super glue did was fill it in.
