I graduated in 1995, hence my handle. Duck hunted many mornings before school and left waders and ithaca model 37 12 ga in a 1990 Camaro in the parking lot. No problems then but boy has the world changed. Who here has duck hunted out of a camaro for one thing, lol?

Do they even sale these truck window racks anymore? I haven't seen them in years. I'm going to make a cloth set cover with seemingly slot for guns to go behind the seat. Or padded hooks that go below the window behind the seat. There just isn't enough room in a single cab ranger. I made a set for mine in 9th grade metal shop just didn't have a truck to put them in yet.

I just heard on the news "Mr. Potato head" kids toy is now being changed so its "gender neutral".
She should stay home and do more cooking like Babe Winkelmans wife did, and let her husband have some peace and quiet.

Mine was a 73 Opel Manta, then a 78 Volvo 4 door. Camaro would’ve been some high class wheels. I’m not much older than JOCO, if he graduated in 95. Owl

Interesting to know how the Resource Officer " Found it ". I'm guessing they have routine searches throughout the school and parking lot with dogs. That's what many districts in MN do anyhow. Not in Rural southern MN. Not yet anyway

No problems then but boy has the world changed. Who here has duck hunted out of a camaro for one thing, lol? technically the law changed in 1990 and you were a felon. they then in 1995 extended it to add hunting or shooting with in 1000 feet of a school property without authorization from the school.unless you were on private property. I was class of 96 say there was a field your dad owned on both sides of the road next to the school my school had corn fields to the east west and north so very possible and you hunted those corn fields for pheasant. you could hunt them but to cross the road you would have to unload and encase cross the road then you could hunt again , because having the gun loaded or uncased was breaking the law. that was not a felony however. now if you walked to the far end of that field and were 1001 feet from the edge of the school property you could just walk across the road. I have deer hunted out of a Saturn S and a mini van, and a Lincoln town car windo vans , conversion vans and a few trucks. I always got out of the car loaded the gun then hunted to be clear. I had a cousin who hunted from the camaro.

My family were from a rural area in north central Pa. My uncle would recall that as a high school kid in the 1940’s, the bus driver would have his 99 Savage with him in the bus during deer season. One morning during buck season, the bus driver shot a fork horn out of the driver’s window. Several of the older boys went out with driver, and helped him drag it back and pull it into the stairwell of the bus. When they got to the school, they drug it down to a patch of woods and skinned and gutted it.
Later in the week, boys in the shop class butchered the deer, and the girls in the home economics learned to cook venison and it was served up in the cafeteria.
I was a little skeptical of the story, until I asked my mother about it. She was a year younger than my uncle and clearly remembered a deer being butchered and cooked at school. Today, the tale of a bus driver shooting out of the bus window would be a big story on CNN. Times sure changed in the last 75 years.

When GCP said his kid forgot some shells in his pocket, a truck driver where I used to work spent a night in a Mexican jail for that. He flew down to a resort, coming back thru Mexican airport security they found a round of 9MM in his backpack his kid had taken to the range a couple weeks prior. He told his wife keep going and get me some help when you get to the states, cost him about $1000, this through a lawyer down there, but next day he was released. US never flagged the round going down to Mexico, kid was in the dog house for a while. Buddy of mine in the marines in San Diego told me of a time he and some buddies went into Mexico for thr weekend and were stopped and searched by some cops. They found a couple .223 round in their car. Nobody went to jail but he said the cops ended up with every dime they had.
