For cats alone a quality 14ga is fine if big coons are encountered go with the 12.5 ga nothing breaks that. Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that! Jerry Herbst

~ADC~ The Count Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 16,399 Iowa	I have found if you use bars for the door you can get by with lighter wire for the rest of the cage as coons are the ones that are hardest on the wire and with rod doors they concentrate their efforts on trying to get out though the bars and not digging into the back corners of the cages. Just be careful where you set them as they will pull everything they get ahold of in the cage with them, hay bales, mud, shingles, etc...

And in places where MT. Lions are around they seem to be everywhere on my lines. I have had them drag em out 10-20 yds or so. The Green Eyed Trapper
