Sounds like you did just the right thing Keith I called Jeff Tiptop, my local warden and explained the situation. I told him that I did not want to pursue the matter at this time, but wanted it to be on record, that I was harrased on my own property, so that if it happened again he would know that it previously happened. He assured me that if it happened again he would act on it.

I can feel your pain. A few years ago my brother and I were bow hunting on our property. Both of us were sitting on the ground along a ditch. About 300 yards facing a cowpath road , three does were working their way towards us when this goober that we both know pulls up in his truck, jumps out and opens fire with a. 22 semi auto. He didn't know it but he was shooting right at us. We both came out of the ditch cussing up a storm, he takes off. Long story short, when we reported it , since we didn't get the license plate numbers, nothing was ever done. He did eventually learn a lesson.

If you don’t follow through he’ got the OK to do it again and you have no documentation it happed the first time. Get it on record the 1st time so your golden in court if he keeps it up.
The first time he said it did not matter would of sealed the deal for me. Exactly.

Well that sucks. I think I would also be talking to the neighbor, why is this waddler going out of his way to tell you what they want.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I wouldn’t take any of it too serious. It all makes for great stories. Speaking of...please tell me more how this guy shoots a house 6 times! Had to be a reload in there! And I had an Aunt who was worried about hunting season paint her horse in red letters...both sides...HORSE! It was a white horse to boot. My friend Gus, who is a very brilliant jet engine engineer and good guy, did not grow up hunting or trapping. I got him into hunting in his mid to late 40s. A lot of stuff that we take as common knowledge in hunting, he has no clue of. I had an archery deer target, about 10 feet from one of my barns. I had it there during season the year before too. When Gus arrived, slightly after legal light, he parked behind a gravity bed on running gear obstructing his view of the fake deer. Gus loaded his shotgun and gear (Gus prepares for hunting like he's preparing for the apocalypse) and steps around the gravity bed and sees the deer. Gus shoots twice at the deer, runs closer, stopping at my ditch line, shoots again and reloads. He runs up to the driveway, going back, shoots again, crosses it, shoots twice more and reloads. He goes to shoot again and realizes that the deer's feet are about 14 inches off the ground and does not shoot. He realizes he has been shooting at a fake deer. He then goes down to the tree stand to hunt. Gus had a red dot scope on the shotgun. It had been dead on. Gus was very rough with my guns and crossbow when he had borrowed them in the past. I suspect he was rough with his gun too and probably knocked the scope loose. He missed all 6 shots at the deer. The neighbors house was straight up the very steep hill from the archery target, through a lot of trees, well over 100 yards from where the target was. I think the scope was up really high. The investigators thought the slugs probably skipped and bounced. Gus ended up putting one slug into the house, one slug in the porch and 4 slugs into the concrete foundation. I slept through all the shooting. Gus calls me and asks if I have looked outside. I hopefully ask did you get a deer? Gus replies no, I'm sorry, you have a whole lot of police cars in your driveway. I go out and there are 6 law enforcement vehicles, ODNR and Sheriffs department and even more officers, who are putting up crime scene tape in my driveway and field. The last deputy did not leave until about 6:00pm. They used lasers and measured everything. They marked broken twigs and weeds and where they thought the ground was scuffed by slugs bouncing. Gus wanted to go apologize to the neighbors, offer to pay for the damaged siding and take them to dinner. The deputies would not let him talk to them. Gus was going to go over later and his son, who is a high end lawyer, talked him out of it. He was not charged with anything for over a year and got off very lightly. I can understand that the neighbors would be mad. Up to that point, I always gave permission to hunt to everyone who asked, except for one guy who told me had scouted my place, without asking first, who I also saw spotlighting fields at night. Since then, I have been much more selective of who I let hunt here. Keith

That is a pretty wild story. Does Gus still hunt? X2. Poor ole Gus, bless him.
