I have about 60 number 0 traps hanging in the fur shed. Most of them are Victor's and some are Blake and Lamb. I have never really looked at these traps and if I were to start looking closely what should I look for? I guess I am asking are there some valuable number 0's or are they about all the same.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I have a pretty good collection of 0 traps. If they are in good condition you could very well have some worth more than user prices but not too much unless you have some really old ones. I have seventeen different Victor longsprings listed with five that I don't have. I'm sure there is more than seventeen but that is what I have listed. Made in Canada is generally a little harder to find. Little things like the different patent and warranting stamps and those that don't have any are some of the variations. You have the newest OC Woodstream solid pan, newer ATC and the older OC. Then you have the different jaws including regular cut, ribbed jaws, and older cast jaws. Oh yeah, lets not forget the different chains. LOL Then you have special marked commemorative traps like the 40th FTA anniversary, etc. When they start getting older you switch form humped cross to straight cross and then even a dogless that I don't have.
There is at least a half dozen different B&L longsprings and the same for jumps.
I have eight different Oneida "V" jumps listed.
But do you have a full dozen #0 jumps from the 20's or 30's in the factory, unopened box with a Sears and Roebuck shipping label?

Maybe the box of 1.5's and 0's have bricks in them. I better rip them open tonight and inspect them. Maybe they will even have the Ontario address on them.

If I'm correct, he was selling them for $1,200.00 if I'm not mistaken. 35 years ago I sold an unopened box of Oneida 0 for a $100.00 and thought I was "poopin" in the high cotton. My best story however, is the guy I bought two dozen BRAND NEW #14 Oneida Jumps from...... I asked what he did with the boxes....He responded with, "Well I wanted to make sure there were traps in the unopened boxes, so I ripped them opened and burned up the boxes." Nittany Lion, I'm thinking an 0 LS, with the SHORT SPRING is rare. An advanced collector on this site is looking for a clean one! I think the little 0 traps are a great trap,to specialize in collecting. Did anybody ever market an 0 Stoploss in a LS or Jump?

Jim, There are actually 5 models of "THE VICTOR" trap, before Oneida Community dropped "THE" and just called it a "VICTOR". Here are the other 4 models. Here is the most common model, cast pan dog model with '86-'87 patent dates. Here is the first model, cast pan with "TRAP" on the pan, '1886 patent date on bottom of base, before the Jan.25, 1887 patent. Here is the fourth model, riveted pan, same pan shank that attaches to the base. Here is the fifth model "THE VICTOR", riveted pan on a post. I have never seen an #0 in this model but I have a #3 and #4.

I have one Victor #0. with "Warranted" stamped on the pan. The "Warranted" stamp dates the trap, but I Have forgotten what that date is. I think they had a bad run on jaws or springs and the "Warranted" stamp was to assure the problem had been addressed. While probably not rare, just different.

Thanks for all the replies. I've been somewhat immobilized since the beginning of the month and haven't checked what I have yet. I appreciate all of the responses.
