My grandparents didn’t come to America until the early 1900’s and had nothing to do with slavery. So why should I, a taxpayer, be responsible to pay for it? Shouldn’t all the northern soldier family descendants that died in the civil war for helping to free the slaves also get reparations.

I definitely do not support any type of reperations to anyone. The Dems are and always have been the "We know best what is good for you and the take from everyone but themselves and give to others". I'm not talking about their constituents who are in the same boat with the rest of us. I say shame on them for voting that way because they have always been that way so you would think you would learn after awhile. I'm talking mainly about elitest politicians who have never done anything either except get rich off the taxpayer but have never actually contributed anything to society. Oh wait that sounds so familiar like their constituency. They keep going after the 2A to protect themselves from the rest of us who have worked all our lives and served this great nation in many ways. They aren't stupid. They realize that if you keep ramming this stuff down Americas throat at some point the people will push back. It is a shame that Americans don't realize that the pen is mightier than the sword and all this can easily be taken care of on election day. I guess that cool aide must taste good or like everything else the liberals have done they have mixed something in it.

None of my ancestors ever were slave owners. A number of them fought for the Union during the Civil War One was killed at Cold Harbor, Another was wounded twice.They fought to free the slaves, which was dead wrong.

Absolutely !! Blacks make up 12.7% of the US pop . Less than 57% of eligible voters vote , especially the 2016 election. To court the Black vote on a National level is a losing strategy.

We have people actively working against the interest of those with European decent, actively trying to replace the founding population of the country (country not land!) with those whose forefathers did not have a active role, whose forefathers did not bleed for this land. It is okay for everyone to play identity politics and have a group identity and promote your interest... unless your European.

Residents of the northern states should pay twice as much as their southern counterparts. More northerners gained employment and profited off of southern grown cotton. The vast majority of the manufacturing/textile mills were north of the Mason/Dixon line. Also all slaves that were brought to the U.S. were brought here under the U.S. flag.

The govt should head down to every "hood" and tell people to sign up if they want government paid reparations for past slavery.
After they sign up,give them their one way ticket back to Africa,and let the know that the 'repair"part of reparation is repatriation to the homeland to make the past wrong of bringing them here against their will "right"again.

I have no problem with black people, one of the best friends I've ever had is black. I have trouble with cynical politicians using race as a means to buy a vote. These people are despicable.

I think everyone here is missing the point this has nothing to do with reparations and all to do with Trumps rising popularity among black voters, I really doubt ever thiey expect it to happen it’s all about changing the voting dynamics of the next presidential election

If the republicans could get their (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) together and pull together as a party they could take control and actually do some good and turn back some of this tide of anti Americanism that the democrats have been building on for so long
