Reparations is the financial enslavement of whites and other Americans to black Americans. It is wrong as slavery was, back before it ended in the US over 153 years ago.

Reparations are a great way to destroy years of progress and start a race war. It's time for people to be judged on their own merit. America is not perfect and will never be perfect, but for the most part you get what you earn.

It's just so duplicitous. The democratic party was the party of slavery, the party of the KKK, and the party of the Jim Crow laws. Now they want us to pay reparations for what they did. My family were northerners, most who came to America from Ireland post Civil War. I have absolutely zero guilt for slavery in America. It bothers me that no one ever mentions that union soldiers died by the tens of thousands in the war that ended slavery. What guilt does any family carry if there was a union soldier in that family's history? It was the wealthy southern landowners and the dominant political party, Democrats, that brought about the Civil War and sent many poor southerners to their death fighting the confederate cause. Truly an example of a rich man's war, poor man's fight. How they have ever convinced our black population that they are the party with the black man's best interest in mind is a mystery to me.

It's an attempt to buy black votes. Votes in which they already have mind you.

That being said, I will also say that I won't be surprised if America allows this to happen.

I'm surprised so many on here are against such a proposal. It seems many on this site support causes that allow posterity to pay for "the sins of the father." This is no different. So why the uproar?
I for one don't believe that individuals, both present or future, should pay for others bad actions. One of the reasons I'm so adamantly against suggestions of eliminating the right to reproduce if an individual lives off of 'government cheese' or abortion which is disguised as "reproductive rights." If you support these things there should be no reason to not support reparations. After all we would just be paying for "the sins of the father."

Democratic party is a party of control. In one way shape form or the other. They have to control something or some one. It's core or their ideologies weather they know it or not. You/we are either to stupid, mean, ignorant, uninformed, etc... To make good decisions and to be left to our own. So you have to have someone show you or tell you how to do it.

We have enough social programs in place do we really need to pay people for living here, slavery has been around forever many White, Asian and Black slaves in the past and there still is slavery in Africa today they say. I say anyone that can prove they were from slave decent should be offered a free ticket home after giving up US citizenship be they of any race or color!
