Skin, wrap up and freeze. Do not clean skin it. Leave some fat on the pelt. Roll up fur out with the head and the tail on theninside of the roll. X2

Toss It and don't pick up any more. Why? Did you see the raccoon in person? How do you know it isn't worth skinning?

The average coon brought about $10.00 last season. A coon picked up at this time of the year Is starting to break down so even though I haven't seen It I know fur.

The best way I have found is to skin it and roll it with the fur out. Place in a trash bag and freeze. I have had some in the freezer for two years and when pulled out they were good as the day they were frozen.

I find this thread more about weather the coon Is worth keeping other then how to or should you freeze It for the upcoming selling season. Here In WI It's Illegal to pick up road kills after the season has closed on that particular critter. So that's another thing to take Into consideration when picking up road kills.

No the thread is about what the author asked specifically. He didn’t ask if he should be picking them up right now, he didn’t ask if it was legal, he didn’t ask what people thought it might be worth. Most did a nice job answering the question.
