As ADC stated, I been using it for a few years on my fox and coyote traps with few problems. I use it because after 35 years of boiling and waxing, the ritual became a huge big chore. lol
It is not perfect by any means, but it is fast and easy. I do thin it more than the instructions say to mix things for the first dipping, and then dip the traps about 3 or 4 times in that thin mixture to get a good coating on them. I make it thinner the first time so that it will get into the coil springs and other real tight places better. After the first time, I just mix as instrutions say to. I started doing this while away from home a few thousand miles where boiling, dying and waxing were usually impossible to do.
Unlike my results with gasoline mixture dips, I have seen no adverse reactions by animals to the dipped traps. All the gasoline (yes, I know coleman fuel etc.) dips seemed to take a long long time to cure out and dry well, and would work well, but the second time around, after washing traps and redipping because of worn areas from trapped animals scrapping against rocks, sand etc. I found that animals would dig up most of the traps, even after allowing them to air dry in sun for months. Have not had such problems with formula one.
