Rick,

If for some reason it does NOT work, please let me know and I will have the problem fixed!

I will be very interested in your review of the material. Please post your thoughts here after you have a look.

G'day Pete,
Got in touch with ATA and ordered the manual and the DVD.
Angel sent me an email to say the goods are on the way.
Thanks mate.

No worries!

I bet some of that info will come in useful in trapping dogs. But even if it doesn't, the manual is fun to read and the DVD is fun to watch!

Pete received my copy of book and DVD yesterday. Very quick delivery to Canada. Nice tie in as I just returned from hosting a wolf harvesting seminar out at our lodge. We had 14 trappers in attendence and had a great time. Much of the material we covered was in your publication as well. Guess a wolf is wolf regarless of it's nationality LOL. Bottom line is you folks did a great job and it is well worth the money. Thanks to your organization for putting it together.

Canada is not that far away from Alaska. In fact, we tend to think of you guys as "that quaint country just to the south of us.....!"

Have a look and give us your evaluation of the manual and DVD, please. I am anxious to know what some other experienced wolf trappers in other regions think of them.

Thanks,

Pete

Actually Pete we're to the east of you as well!! I've watched the DVD and thought the material was well done. The manual looks more detailed and I haven't read it all yet. The only comment I would make is that when you do an update you might want to look at some of changes in snare design. Personally I'm using a snare design very similiar to yours i.e #9 wire with 3/32 snare crimped on. However some of my buddies are using wammies, killer springs, and ram snares. They probably are worth looking into. Regardless the manual and DVD are money well spent. If cost is an issue I would go with just the manual. Pretty good deal for the package though

Pete,

I received my copy of the DVD and Manual yesterday. The DVD is great viewing, though maybe a little shorter than I would have liked. There is a quite a lot of good info on it. I have to confess, however, as one who has lost too many coyotes because a rock or stick lodged between the jaws, that it made me cringe to see someone dump a gallon or so of coarse gravel on his set. It obviously must work for him, though, so when in Rome???????

The Manual is great reading and contains a lot of great ideas. The art work is neat and descriptive. My main interest was to adapt the methods y'all use up there to my winter coyote trapping, and I think I definitely got my money's worth. More than I can say for some of the videos I've splurged for elsewhere. The section on wolverine trapping was an unexpected but welcome bonus.

By the way, the turnaround time for getting the combo back here to me was far better than I expected. Please pat whoever is handling the shipping on the back for me!

Thanks to you all for taking the time to put together such a good product and for sharing your expertise. Now if they'll just let us trap some of these gold-plated wolves before I get too old to do it! ;\)

I got mine on Friday. I thought the DVD was a little short too. I just can't get enough of hunting and trapping videos.

The manual is awesome. There are a lot of sets I could put to use next year unless of course we get a boat load of snow while in Hawaii. I might have to give them a try if that's the case.

Thanks for your comments guys.

The length of the video was a huge issue between ATA and the producer. Quite frankly, we were appalled when we found out that it was not longer. We had quite a tussle with the producer about it, but unfortunately this little detail was not specifically dealt with in the contract. By the time we realized what was going on, we could not go back and add more footage without significantly adding to our production cost. It was a learning experience for us.

Should we get around to producing a sequel, rest assured that we have learned out lesson!

Rick, We threw the wolverine stuff into the manual as a bonus! I think it was a good decision.

I've not viewed the DVD yet, but have found the manual to be very informative and an enjoyable read as well. Quotes intermingled with instruction and lots of useful illustrations an pics are a bonus. I'd highly recommend this manual.

If you guys want editing input, let us know where to send it. A few typos common to a first printing. My pages are coming loose from the binding at the top. The wife runs a library branch so I'll dab some binding glue in to take care of that...

Just got the DVD and manual and I just watched the DVD at my work desk. It is informative, good to "see" it rather than read about it and try to "vision" it. Now, I am bored, so Iguess I will read the manual,..
maybe I will make good use of the caribou bones and head I just got.. I beeter not do any trail sets though, i am liable to catch a whole pack, tied together with a guy in a basket behind em this weekend

My DVD and Manual arrived today in 100% condition.
First thing I did was put on the DVD and whilst watching it ran a row of stitches down the binding on the manual with my harness machine.
Pete I have learned a bunch of things especially on snaring.

Bloody good value, would recomend it to anybody interested in trapping.

A few minor problems though,NO SNOW ,WOLVES OR WOLVERINE WHERE I LIVE!
Al

Alan, maybe you should import some wolves to control the cats and rabbits! Do you think they would eat them toads?

There may be some hope for you Idaho guys on the wolves. The area biologist that was here for several years and fought the same battle, is now stationed in Pocatello and has just been named to a state wolf management team. He is also a trapper.
