I saw a bench mounted tail puller at the NTA this year. Anyone have pics of one?

Thanks TDB, but that's not it.
The guy that does the skinning demos, was using this one. It's basically two pieces of flat thick stock. One stays stationary, the other has a handle on it. You let the weight of the animal help you out, basically hanging the animal over the table, hanging by his tail. You then pull the handle, separating the two pieces of flat stock and pulling the fur away. It also had a spring to pop it back up into place.
Anyone?

I've got what you're talking about, just don't have a picture at this time, but I'll get one tomorrow and post it if you don't get one sooner. Saw one used at the NAFA demo in 98 and bought one. They do work slick.
Camera batt. didn't need charging, here is the picture.

Bob, after looking at this a little more....
Do you think it would be a better set-up to have the handle off to the side? Instead of in the middle of that piece of flat stock?

Not really, if you look closely at the picture up there left of the chain is a short piece of solid steel rod (2ft) that fits inside the handle for leverage. It gets used a lot the older I get.

Just do your rear leg cuts and little ways down the back, start the tail, lay body on the handle side, with the tail bone in the V, tail fur on the back side and pull down on the handle. Shucks the fur off the bone. The only one I haven't tried on it is otter. Everything else the tail bone has come out clean. Our season doesn't open till later in the month otherwise I'd take a few how to pictures.
