when I run out of wood boards I start in with the wire strechers. Last year, I couldn't seem to keep the coons nose/snout area from sliding down over the tip of the strecher. I don't remember having this problem in the past, tryed clothespins but they didnt hold very well. I probably changed something myself, but I can't fiqure it out. Any help?

when we pull the coon on the stretcher, we put the tip of the stretcher behind nose, this seems to help keep them on.

thats what we do

cut the cartlidge away, then split the center (inside) of the nose, or cut a "X" in the remaining cartlidge, will stay on there then wink

Just run a 6D common nail through the nose and over the wire and back through the nose. This Is a non slip method.Works for rats to just use smaller nails.

When you hang your coon, make sure some of the hook you use to hang, has some nose in it. This will solve your problems. Clothespins help with the more stubborn ones.
