Got out about 530 this morning, heard two gobbles on the roost, by what seemed like the same gobbler, he was quite aways off so I selected not to pursue him, I set up and waited for light, and done some very light tree calling, at first light two hens glided down and went to pecking around, I called and one hen was calling back, shortly after that another Tom on the ground started gobbling and moving my way, the hens were working towards me when the Tom came into view, there were two of them and they were coming quick, then there was another gobble to the right of all this and out comes a Tom with some hens and six Jake's so now the hens and Tom's that were closing on me started moving towards the others, next comes a coyote on the scene, he's trotting in towards the Turkey's and a hen starts putting, the wind was at my face but when the coyote got about a hundred yards away upwind somehow the wind must have been swirling and he spun and beat it out of there, the turkey's went back to gobbling, and one of the two went to challenge the boss with the hens, the boss made short work of that and sent the two packing, at the same time the Jake's hens and big Tom were coming in, the Jake's and hens passed first with the gobbler and one hen bringing up the rear, at 30 yards my SP-10 broke the silence.

Yes it all unfolded beautifully, in all I saw 14 turkey, one coyote, 8 deer and got to watch a couple thrashers building their nest.
