Met George Kortum in Butte and sold 21 beaver one otter, and castor. I had weighted the beaver at home and came up with 36lbs. I had 3 lbs of castor and a nice otter. George did not have a scale right there but told me he could multiply the # by 1.65 and it would be pretty close, he was correct. I got $800 and was completely happy, George was great to deal with, spent some time showing me things I could improve and handed me cash, so I have zero complaints. Thanks for all who weighed in suggesting him. George can be a bit gruff but cash on the barrel head and a local fur buyer are good by me, he needs to have some wiggle room and make money also.

You did well, congratulations.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Congrats. Always love the fur buyers that pay in cash. Reminds me of the good ol' days.

He’s bought more than a few of the top cats at the fur sale in Livingston, a couple of them were mine.

George is top notch.
Sold him a ton of fur, he's always very competitive.

George will never retire. He is pretty tough and will most likely die before he retires. When it happens it will be a real shakeup in the western fur market. For decades he has pushed the price of fur in the west.
I am sure he does not take trappers fur and throw it in the back of his truck and then tell you what he will pay.
