I was an electrician but got in a nasty car wreck 40 years ago and was almost killed. I was told that they gave me Last Rights in the hospital. I fooled them and lived. After a two year recovery, I couldn’t go back to being an electrician because of the injuries so I got a factory job. I worked in maintenance. Did electrical, carpentry, mill wright, painting, snow shoveling, welding, maintaining the car fleet, about anything in the plant that needed done. It was a job that was never boring. Retired 11 years ago when I was 62.

My name ain't Keith

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Nuclear contractor. I wear a few different hats in the nuclear field. Mostly, I test safety valves/systems and work with engineering to troubleshoot and fix valve related issues. I'm coming up on the 20 year mark in that field.

Powerlineman with Manitoba Hydro. 20 years. Just got out of a 1 year temp office job, now back in the field scoping out trapping areas where I belong. Guys ask why I don’t take a nice office job, Eng technician or something, higher pay grade. I tell them that I can’t afford the $70000 pay cut….no OT. I tell the engineers that I can always “fall back” to Eng tech if my body gives out…they don’t like that..hahaha

Worked in the Winnebago Motorhome factory for a few years, then trapped full time for a few years. Delivered new motorhomes to dealers all across the US and Canada. Worked on a commercial Fishing boat in Alaska. Started writing and publishing in 1990. Wrote more than 1000 magazine articles and 17 books which took me all over North American hunting and fishing. Started and ran the largest walleye tournament circuit in North America from 1994 to 2006. Now I do YouTube, bear hunting guide, Run a large fundraising fishing tournament and am starting a bear hunting sports show. At 65 I am not slowing down much, although I have cut way back on the writing. The life of an entrepreneur is ever changing. I have lost track of the number of small businesses I have started and ran. Some made quite a bit of money, some failed. Some I sold for a nice profit. I plan to slow down and take it easy when I am 70. Maybe raise a garden which is something I enjoy but have not been able to do since I travel so much.

Spent the last 30 years in the Millwrights
I have 580 work hours left until I can retire
Also have a 16 year old daughter that I'd like to get through high school before I retire.
But I don't know if my back is going to let me have that option

Ya can't be scared all of your life

25yrs with a communications company. Started a little late in life, but I’ll have 30yrs service when I turn 60. May or may not retire then. Took a new title 4 years ago and nothing I do is physical or requires me to work in the elements. I joke and tell people I get paid for what I know and not what I do.
For the last 7-8yrs I’ve had a “side job” removing unwanted guests from rich landowners properties. That keeps me outdoors and I make enough to buy toys and pay for trips. It also gives me hunting and fishing opportunities.
