I'm trying my hand at tanning coons, skunks and a mink with Tru Bond. I was wondering about after the process how do you fully dry and fluff the fur and get the tanning solution off the edges of where the fur meets the hide I may have accidentally got on the fur? I'm on the step of waiting for the tan to absorb and then will apply the lubriderm oil.

I assume you are talking about the oil getting on the fur. Tumble in cob grit and then qood flour. There is also a aolvent you can get from taxidermy supply houses that you add to your tumbling media.

Yes thank you. I think I can make my own tumbler with a 5 gallon bucket.

Don’t worry about it. Its a water soluable “oil”, not a petroleum oil like it appears. No need to tumble unless you just want to. After its done sitting you’ll give it a rinse in clean water and it’ll be gone. Most is gone before you even rinse it.

A little mineral spirits added to your grit a cob will do the job in a good tumbler running 10-15 minutes.

20 mule Borax works as well. May even talk the wife into buying it for laundry.
