The only bad part about prep is cutting up the pork butt into tiny pieces. This dish is really delicious with fresh dill and a dollop of sour cream on top. Maybe a nice baguette. It’s more of a winter or fall meal but I had a hankerin for it. PM me for recipe if you want it. It’s delicious

We used to have a small mom&pop restaurant here that only sold goulash. About a dozen or so types on the menu.

Sadly , they just closed as the owners were getting too old and the family didn't want to take it over. In business for about 40 years.

Good place to eat , decent food , affordable. Gonna miss them.

There’s a Hungarian restaurant in Pittsburgh called Huszar. Tiny hole in the wall joint. I’ve had their mushroom or chicken paprikash , but their house specialty is the putzca steak. It’s a pounded breaded pork cutlet with cheese and sour cream over it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it

Now you know where the expression comes from: "A Mom & Pops Place".
Sad to see such a neat place close.

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Truly a mom & pop place.

If you look closely in the pics , this place was in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Houses all around it. Predates most zoning laws. Place was kinda hidden , even longtime residents didn't know of the place. Small but cozy inside , maybe seated 20 max.
It was a converted home made into a eatery. I think the owners lived onsite.

My wife makes good gulasz. She's 1st gen from Poland. Serves it over potato pancakes with a side of mizeria (cucumbers, sour cream, and dill).

If you don't mind, would you share the recipe?
