The problem is the extremist in America have control of the conversation on everything. There are just as many so called patriots jamming the American flag in people's faces today. For some it's no longer a symbol of patriotism as it seems is a battle flag.Used against anyone or thing they see as un American. At least Their version of un American.
There seems to be no one who wants to be seen doing anything in moderation.

As I see it in this case the extremist were the so call triggered individuals. Probably would not have even thought about that type shirt on Garth Brooks 20 years ago. Any more than the group called Confederate Railroad.

My understanding is the 1st gives you the right to speech without the government interfering. Does not give the government the power to police privet organizations that limit or control speech.

I grew up in the 60-70s when it was (America)"Love it or leave it" was a common line to hear. Lots of people POed about hippies or college kids making shirt or pants from flags. Oh my God how unpatriotic..

In this day and age when everyone wants to say everything is being weaponized. There are individuals out there doing just that with the American flag. Stuffing it in people face. Look at me I'm a real American. Then when some other individuals says their triggered by a flag in a simple setting. Those same people say the old "Love it or leave it" Mission accomplished..

It is tiring to watch.
So I should keep my mouth shut because I would like to take a ball bat up side both groups heads.
