I hate padded traps, only time I have ever had significant foot damage. That was with a MB 550 padded trap. Only bought 6 of them because of the requirement in WA State.

I've not used them on coyotes. Used extensively on MB750-Wolf and on LPCs. Only time I ever had extensive foot damage on wolves. I quit using them, had all padded jaws replaced with steel. No more problems. I agree with Machias.

Way back when I started trapping (late 90's), bought a dozen #3 victors; supposedly more fur friendly? I had more leg damage than with any trap I have used since. But if that's what you have to use, maybe there has been improvements made.
