Anybody ever done the dove hunt in Argentina?
I bought a hunt at last nights NRA dinner. Looking forward to it , but would like to hear from someone who's done one.

watched Scott Leysath do it on a couple episodes of the Sporting Chef... looked like a pretty good time.

My brother has gone a few times. Expect a sore shoulder. He was shooting a Browning Citori 12 ga O/U and mentioned it felt like shouldering a boat anchor after a couple hours. Shooting is near constant, the way he tells it.

Been a couple of times nvwrangler. If you LIKE to wingshoot, it is great. People are great also. I would also suggest NOT taking your own guns. An unbelievable hassle and not necessary. Rent guns from your outfitter. Most use Berrettas and Benelis. Just my 2 cents.........

My wife and I just returned a couple weeks ago. I been saying I wanted to go for 40 years. Already planning for next year, shot 4500 dove in 3.5 days. It was everything that you see and here about and more. Constant flow of dove all day,the people and food was amazing. I would highly recommend taking a strap on shoulder pad and use their guns.

I've heard the beretta 28 gauge is real soft on recoil. Take pics, looks like a blast.

I “won” a donated hunt umpteen years ago, but it was gonna end up costing me more than a hunt if I booked it myself, lol. I never went but have had a few buddies that went and as already stated, use the outfitters gun and take some tip money for your bird boys. They also said to pace yourself, lol.

Yeah, yeah, yeah you do that. All kidding aside, I'd find something to shoot beside a 12 ga. I spent a day with a buddy shooting pigeons out of the stockyards next to a fair sized city. We filled a Bobcat bucket 4 times and thought it was fun at the time. Next day I couldn't raise my arm and the bruise slowly faded but took about 10 days to git gone.

So what would one do with 4500 dove?

Whatever they wanted I guess. Probably donate to the locals. Really didn't matter to me what they did with them.

It seemed like wanton waste to me until I read about it. The birds have the meat equivalent to a chicken nugget and they're considered a pest. It sounds like there are tens of millions of them and they reproduce as fast as they're killed off.

Sounds like a sore shoulder to me.

Went to a DU shoot that was a total of 500 mallards and pheasants, morning and afternoon. My buddy and I was shooting 12 ga semis.
By late afternoon as the pheasants were coming, we'd both look at each other and said, "you shoot", " no, you shoot", lol
Could barely lift the gun up.

Can't imagine a thousands plus bird shoot with 12's, even with trap loads....

Not worth dealing with customs.

Definitely a sore shoulder. We were shooting 20s can't imagine shooting 12s. I couldn't hold my gun up anymore the end of the third day.
