I don't recall seeing a post on here about the Avian X factor motion decoy system just curious if they work. If they do I . may get one to help the grandson out if nothing else he would have something to watch.

With as many people getting shot turkey hunting esp public land hunting I would think pretty hard before adding a moving decoy. My 11 year old got hit in his sleeve as we came over the top of a hill when the guy on the other side of the turkey shot at the turkey.

Plus Ihave some hard plastic decoys that look great, but they are a pain to get set up fast and get through the dmwoods with quietly. Especially since the last 4 birds the boys have shot have not been toms coming to the call but making them gobble and us slipping up on them. 13 and 17 yard shots last season doing that. My large ruck with decoys and calls makes it hard to skip through the woods quietly but I managed.

Would be nice if the birds would come to the call like they do on TV.

Where we would be hunting is on my land in a pole barn about 20 feet off the ground with plain view all around.

Glad your boy is OK but stalking turkey or sounds is just asking for trouble, as you found out. The electronic motion thing and stalking are both illegal in PA fortunately, same as those reaper fans.

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Can’t wait until they outlaw them things for everyone. If a kid or first timer ain’t got the patience to learn the right way then they need to pick something else to hunt. The instant gratification generation keeps growing.

More stuff to carry around. Might be fun but certainly not needed. Lots of people kill turkeys without decoys.
