Do you mean a fleshing machine , used to thin hides and capes as in taxidermy? Your talking about a round knife.

Furbuyer in Wes tpoint Iowa had one. His wife ran it sometimes but set idle most times as slung coon grease all over.

I used a vibrating knife model on coon and it did a good job, but was very slow. I used it a couple days while working for Pacific Hide and Fur in Gt Falls MT. I decided it was too slow and moved it out of the skinning room.

Yes a fleshing machine. One is a table model the other is hand operated. Uses a round spinning sharp blade. the table model is $1+++. the hand job is $3++. I've known about the table model but not the hand operated one. Saw it on utube. You can use them for fleshing and hide thinning. just

I think those are more for shaving leather then fleshing green fur. I have seen them run and don't think that a person could keep up with someone with a good two hand fleshing knife. If you are wanting something for working rehydrated hides to tan, they are the way to go. That is what they are made for.
