This stray showed up to greet me this morning. He has a couple collars; one with an electronic something on it. No tag though. I'm going to try to find his owner on social media before turning him over to the animal shelter.

I agree some sort of poodle lab or poodle golden retriever mix
not sure if you face book or know someone who does near you
lots of areas have a local events or information page or buy sell trade paged the one here is got I found a dog on this road or that road it came to my house , anyone know who it belongs to.
less than a half a day and owner is typically found.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Resolved with happy ending.
The dog went missing sometime last night. The owner reported him missing,
My call and description was a positive match.
The community service officer picked him up and is returning to his owner, not too far away.
Thanks, all for the descriptive help.

After the fact, I looked up "Golden Doodle", and believe that's what he is.
Seems to be a great dog. Very friendly, active when there was work to be done, chilled at my front door when done. He knew the basic commands, and was obedient.

My buddy owns a pair of Labradoodles. The older one is a bird hunting machine and a flawless retriever. The younger one is in training but it's looking like he's going to be another good bird dog. Both are very friendly and intelligent dogs.
His wife likes them because they shed very little.
My wife likes them too for that reason. Our older lab sheds like crazy, sometimes when he shakes a cloud of hair comes off him.
I don't like the price of them and very few have hunting pedigrees that I've seen.
Eh...wot?

Golden doodle or a Labradoodle, likely... That's my guess too. Good luck on finding the owner. I'm sure they miss a fine companion.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.
