Does anyone on here have any idea what this trap is? It is fairly large, around 26 inches from end to end. Any help is appreciated!

That's what I thought with the base, and the odd pan shape. I mean at that size it has to be a bear trap?

Not likely a bear trap, it is mor likely a body grip killer.

Thats wild. They just use a giant foothold to trap smaller animals, and plan that they get body caught in it? This is cool! It's a trap I was bidding on on an auction, looking at it for the man cave since I have never seen one. But as all man cave items it's cool to know what it is haha

My book doesn't have prices on the early hand forged stuff.
Some are said to be marked on the bottom - FHEIDMAN
They would surely be 1800's era

You can google to try and get a ballpark value ?
