It stopped at a point where the season could have ended in such a great way. The possibilities of events were set up so well at that point. So much was on the verge of changing for the better, the last two shows being very evident in many exciting directions. The ranch was set to become the legacy John spoke about , when he used the King ranch as an example of its legacy, that was beyond take over by big business. Metallic Cat and the team could have done a lot to sum up that season. Rip could have done something well imagined to stop Jamie ...lots of chess moves to end that series.

I still find it hard to believe Costner wouldn't see all that opportunity to end the series with such big events , that he wouldn't want to dive right back into it .

IDK if Costners a commie or not. But I'm pretty sure that the characters he plays aren't him and don't necessarily express his views. That is why it's called "acting."
