Last week I drove from St Louis to Charleston South Carolina, then down to Savannah Georgia, and back to St louis. All during daylight hours. I saw a grand total of zero turkeys.

There must be a pile of them in Missouri.
MDC doubled the length of the season this spring.

A large bunch must have moved up here! Not uncommon to see a few dozen every day in the fields.

I’ve seen them do some stupid stuff, but that one takes the cake.

probably see around 75 in the last week some of them more than once but wouldn't be fair to drive past the same 30 3 times and call it 90.
I know where there are about 8 flocks

all on private land and all of it is spoken for as far as I know.

they will get to smaller groups once we get to B season
a couple weeks out on A season yet.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

SD extended the pheasant season a few years back when we had very few birds I think it’s tourist bait thats all that makes any sense.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Wonder if the Chinese Bird FLU is the cause?
Turkey numbers are down by a large % everywhere.
Now cattle are getting Bird Flu?

Even though we had a super mild winter, #s here seem to be down Big Time from a year ago?
Like WAY big time.

Can't think it depredation as I've walked many miles of (what was) Prime riverbottom habitat for turkey and have not seen a single dead or feather pile.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Look at license sold vs turkeys killed.

I’m with ya man.
Every state is cutting back in some way. Missouri doubles the season length in the middle of long term population decline.
Cutting edge wildlife management don’t ya know.
Gotta justify your job somehow I reckon.

I think I quit counting at 70 on the large flock. About 15 in the other pic. There are birds out of view in both pics.

You can have em all! Dumbest animals I've ever seen. You want a 12 inch bearded wing bat, you can stand in my grader ditch with a heavy stick and fill as many state approved tags as you can buy. Those morons were in my field all weekend following me closer than the dog while I was chopping down weeds. Wife asked why I've never gone turkey hunting, I told her it's not really a sport if they are trying to catch a ride in your game bag. Turkeys.... people like to pretend the animal is smarter than them so they feel better....
