I think he turned out pretty good. His name is Rutherford, but I don't know if he likes it too well. He never answers to it.

Nice deer ! Congratulations. See it a lot but I don’t like the ears in that position. Just my opinion....

Maybe because it's not natural. I have never seen a deer with his head low like that who had his ears lowered and forward. Doesn't look at all life-like, but if you like it, more power to ya.

Sneak mount. I have seen them in that pose sniffing buck lure, trying to figure it out. Nice job.

Granted, MOST bucks in that position will have their ears laid back, but never say never when in comes to.living things.

Maybe this buck never got the memo?

Looks like far side forward.

Then there's this buck.

I like the mount.

Deer have their ears and heads in all kinds of positions all the time. That looks as natural as anything else out there.

walleyed has around a dozen bucks mounted
in the full sneak position & all of them are
ears back & lowered somewhat.

That said, I have seen live whitetail exhibit
every type of ear positioning you could imagine.

My personal preference in a mount
is full sneak with the ears laid back.
