Was just on the FHA site...looks like they're hitting back on green beaver sales in Canada. At least I interpret it that way since they're talking Canadian dollars.

FHA must have had some PT sales. Some more pelts showed up sold.

I pointed that out a long time ago.
If you sell your beaver frozen and folded in HALF that is how much you get paid-Half,lol.
Good slogan.

Gibb said 2 months ago he had bought over 5000. Do not know what he got since or other Canadian (or American for that matter) GFW agents got since but must be cutting into FHA a bit for them to respond with that on their website.

Certainly appeals to people who do not have time and/or know how to do proper put up. Looks like GFW got FHA's attention. Competition good.

Yes a few more of my small and lower grades sold. large, medium, bigger damaged averaged $2.57 for 6 of those type of rats. Did sell 2 2x-3xl slights for $3.50.

Bp got that right but selective writing has not included
-Ontario royality
- shipping cost
-commission deduction
- grade1 prices not all in
and poor sales on the castor you bring in vs 45$ Can all in

They had to put something ;now; out because they are doing a big run this week-end through NW Ontario

This is just like the NWco and HBC of the 1800's

Good analogy North. Red River (seven oaks) massacre anybody?

Double for more than just beaver too.
Lynx marten and castor too by the looks of it.
Big benefit to the trapper when the fur is actually graded and not just bought at one generic price.

It must be noted that the FHA put out in record time this go round....Daily Updates and prices, and a breakdown on sizes of their #1 beaver and other items
The GFW measurements take into consideration the sizes of frozen
now lets look at some of the prices not included;
-Ontario royality per pelt =$ 3.50 even smalls actual is $2
- shipping cost bag is $ 15 so .50 / pelt
-commission deduction @ 11%
- grade1 prices not all in <only 20% get into this grade> refer to their table for actual prices
coming soon
Somewhere there are 10K Ontario beaver pelts missing from the FHA pick-up truck

yes BP every day I drive by where that Seven Oaks massacre happened.

I can give you real numbers.
I was offered 75 to 130 tops for 5 lynx I brought to the GFW truck.
When I told him that was too low.(I know what fur is worth)GFW said ship to auction,so I did.

I recieved from FHA 258 top and 220 av.

I am not sure what GFW offered for marten I believe it was 45 and 60
At FHA I recieved 122 top and 93 avg.

Shipping is not per bag.
So even after all deductions I did near double at FHA.
My top beaver was 76,avg 45.And those are all in prices including XS's

I think you will see GFW raise his offers after the FHA sale if he wants to compete.

15$ shipping is included unless dropped off at their depo
so 30 beaver pelts / bag is 50 cents
those were some lynx already there since they did not sell fresh this last sale according to Wissmiss

I said they did not sell fresh bobcats/lynxcats this sale. All Lynx were offered - fresh and held over.

And on the bobcats - it was just WESTERNS that fresh were not offered. All other sections of bobcats were offered all skins.

This information is plainly written in their sale report, which is clearly posted on their web site.

I averaged $29.10 before deductions on 70 beaver this sale. 4$ cheaper than last year. The country is looking pretty good to me.

bozo blabbing again about stuff he doesn't know, not all fur is CANADIAN supreme fur! Scrape a beaver get an extra dollar for this southern stuff OR spend your time getting twice as many beaver instead of standing over a fleshing beam half the night. It's a coin flip if you have northern fur but for southern guys shipping isn't an option, how much would it cost to mail 200-500 beaver up north? Then wait a year and hope the market doesn't collapse before they sell.

I sold most of my beavers to GFW in Canada in January. Now I haven’t compared size by size but I cherry picked what I thought my 6 best 2-3x beavers were. Only one beat GFW price after commission and overall I averaged 2 or 3$ a beaver less then GFW on the six I sent
