People don't like fake fur for $1500 jacket. Maybe the fad wore off or the economy getting tighter is at work. But how long does a jacket last you and how much are you willing to spend on one? There is a limited amount of people who will spend so much on a jacket and said jacket will last a while.

I remember an old saying….faux fur is for faux people.

We went to New York City in December (against my better judgment). It was 40 degrees or better during the day and it was stupid how many people were wearing those big Canada Goose coats. We were wearing light jackets and hoodies. Guess they all thought they were making a statement about how cool they think they are.

Fashion is what drives a good fur market not practicality though fur is really warm when u really need it

When I was in Iceland last June I was in the Canada Goose store and the clerk apologized that they only had real coyote trim coats and said if I could wait a day or two the faux fur ones were expected in!

This one likely has more to do with bigger demand issues relative to the fashion industry as a whole and fur within that realm. Fashion world is brutal. Coyote trim craze wasnt going to last forever on Canada Goose jackets. If there was/is great demand out there for such a product, someone somewhere somehow would be supplying that demand and making money. Its a fickle beast as we can see currently with felt is in such an overdemand situation. But demand doesnt seem the case for fur garments overall and it has really only been the case in fairly small and short lived spurts within certain segments over the last 40 years.

Global warming-not as many people need super warm goose down coats.

Overall, companies have the bad tendency to listen to the liberal, vocal minority, while ignoring their silent customer base, who just buy elsewhere when the company follows the whacky liberal demands.
